(CBS Detroit) – The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that there would be traffic changes as reconstruction of the M-3 project continues.
The next step is to shift traffic from the outer right lane and into the inner left lane. Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) between Miles 11 and Miles 13 To paint new lane markings, move barrels etc. to move traffic safely.
Northbound M-3 will be reduced to one lane from 11 Mile Road to 13 Mile Road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, June 4
Southbound M-3 will be reduced to one lane from 13 Mile Road to 11 Mile Road between 7am and 5pm on Thursday, June 10
Access will be available to all businesses. Businesses with multiple driveways will always have one driveway open. Those businesses with only one driveway will be rebuilt to their partial-width, with half the driveway open while the other half is being repaired.
Detour signs specifying crossover locations for truck traffic will be posted due to areas with fewer turns.
