Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, attended the twenty-first session of the “100 Mentors” program, one of the initiatives of the Emirates Youth Council, which is generously sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President’s Board.
During the session, which was held in collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority Youth Council and entitled “Energy between the present and the future”, Al Tayer spoke about the national efforts aimed at moving towards the adoption of clean energy, and the most important projects and initiatives launched by Dubai in this field, including Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy, which are implemented by the Authority and are considered to be the largest solar energy complex in a place in the world, according to the independent producer system. It will have a production capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030.
Al Tayer also stressed the importance of giving young people the opportunity to qualify, invest their talents and abilities, become the next generation of sustainability leaders, continue the development process witnessed by the United Arab Emirates and engage them in the efforts to achieve the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050. The goal is to provide 75% of Dubai’s energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.
