The San Jose Fire Department has extinguished a three-alarm residential fire in the East Dobern neighborhood of San Jose but not without damage and one home has become a “total loss.”
A juvenile was transported to the hospital with burns after fire crews responded to a call for service at 2:44 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Clyda Drive. The fire was contained in a little more than an hour, officials said.
The fire also damaged a backyard shed and the fence of an adjacent residence but spared the nearby houses.
San Jose fire officials have not yet assigned a cause for the fire.
A fire pole was also damaged in the fire. PG&E estimated 22 homes have been affected while they try to restore power.
