Adam Peaty says his mom ‘just asked him to make one pass’
Olympian Adam Peaty commented on his mother’s reaction after the Strictly Come Dancing debut: “I think he just wanted me to do one pass.”
The 26-year-old swimmer and professional partner Katya Jones became the sixth couple to leave the BBC One competition in the dance competition against Tilly Ramsay and partner Nikita Kuzmin.
Following their debut, Peaty’s mother, Caroline, said she was proud of her son on Twitter, but added: “I’m not buying the total correction and public vote.”
Appearing on BBC Breakfast Thursday, Peaty told presenter Charlie Stayt: “I agree with you, mothers will always support their own mothers. She wanted to see me every Saturday night – you know how moms are, bless her.
“I love him so much, he loves me so much. I think he just wanted me to do a doble, that’s all he wanted me to do… for me, if anyone can lose well it’s me and everyone in this competition, they’re amazing people and I’m glad I’m out” because I don’t deserve to be there.
“Some dancers just… my jaw drops and I’ll be behind everyone on the show and so, you know, it’s amazing, it’s different for me because normally I’m on my own and I’m going, you know, ‘You’re not beating me today’ but this is different…”
