BPD Assistant Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said anyone who witnessed the shooting or has it on video should contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit.
Boston police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a shooting at a Dorchester barbershop that left one man dead and another injured Monday.
Officers received reports of two people shot in Dorchester around 12:55 a.m. Monday, Assistant Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said. When they arrived at the barber shop near the intersection of Eerie and Washington Streets, McLaughlin said they found two male adults suffering from gunshot wounds.
First responders transported both victims to nearby hospitals, where one victim died from his injuries, McLaughlin said. The other victim has non-life threatening injuries, McLaughlin said. McLaughlin confirmed that both victims “appeared” to be customers at the barbershop.
“Based on the preliminary stages of this investigation, we do not believe this was a random event,” McLaughlin said. “We are currently spreading out in the area, looking for witnesses.”
McLaughlin urged anyone with information or video of the shooting to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
