A gunman opened fire on a Bronx street, seriously injuring a 43-year-old man and graze a smoke shop worker who was closing up his shop for the night, police said Saturday.
The shooting took place at West Fordham Road near University Ave.across from Devoe Park in Fordham, at about 1:15 a.m. Friday, police said.
The gunman shot the man in the back, and a stray bullet grazed a 37-year-old woman in her thigh, police said, as she was closing a nearby smoke shop.
EMS transported the injured man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition Saturday.
Around the same time, the woman took herself to New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she was treated for a minor wound.
Police recovered surveillance footage of the gunman and released them publicly in the hope that someone will recognize and identify him.
The gunman was last seen running southbound on University Ave.
He was described as black, about 30 years old and about 6 feet tall. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a red or orange hoodie, black Adidas sweatpants and white sneakers.
