Simone Biles has entered the chat — and the gold medalist loves his menial job.
The most decorated Olympian in the history of women’s gymnastics apparently responded to a comment from the former President Donald Trump Wednesday in Chicago while speaking at a National Association of Black Journalists event.
Trump’s controversial appearance at NABJ panel — a moderated question-and-answer session with live fact-checking — was contentious and heated from the start, as ABC reporter Rachel Scott opened the discussion by asking the Republican presidential nominee why black voters should support him, and pressed Trump on offensive comments he has done before about black journalists and district attorneys.
Trump responded by saying the question was asked in “such a terrible way” before going on to comment on Vice President Kamala Harris’ ethnicity, saying she appeared to be “turning black recently”.
While speaking at the NABJ convention, former President Donald Trump was asked if he believes Kamala Harris was only hired because she is a black woman.
He also criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies, saying immigrants who come to the U.S. illegally are taking “black jobs,” a phrase Trump also used during the June debate between Trump and President Joe Biden. It urged this exchange:
Trump: “From the border come millions and millions of people who take black jobs.”
Interviewer: “What exactly are menial jobs, sir?”
Trump: “A black job is anyone who has a job, that’s what it is. Anyone who has a job.”
While speaking at the NABJ convention, former President Donald Trump was asked what his message is and what he came to speak about.
Trump’s comment was met with laughter and groans in the room, and criticism on social media.
A day later, Biles, who has been outspoken about the racism black gymnasts face, won her second gold medal in Paris at women’s gymnastics individual all-around finalwith epic performances on vaults, beams and floors. She has now won six gold, one silver and two bronze Olympics.
