A number of Celtic fans have criticized the yellow card given to Hoops defender Cameron Carter-Vickers in the Europa League tonight.

The Bhoys defender has been a smart addition to Ange Postecoglou’s team when he came on loan from Spurs this summer.

Carter-Vickers have played 16 games for Celtic this season and were in action when Hoops met Bayer Leverkusen away tonight.

The 23-year-old made several crucial inversions as Celtic withstood plenty of Leverkusen pressure throughout the first half.

Celtic were right at the break when Josip Juranovic’s Panenka penalty canceled Robert Andrich’s opener.

Hoops then took the lead 56 minutes in, as Jota broke through on the left and put the 1 – 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.

Carter-Vickers received a yellow card after 69 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior.

This will exclude him for the last group match against Betis.

Here’s what some Celtic fans did about the reservation:

Celtic were unable to maintain their lead and subsequently cashed in twice more to go out of the Europa League.

Andrich grabbed a second and Moussa Diaby got a late winner for the hosts.
