Washington — Special Counsel Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, again accusing Trump of opposing the peaceful transfer of power after The 2020 presidential election. Smith reduced the charges after one landmark Supreme Court judgment on presidential power earlier this year.
The new loading document is based on a more refined set of alleged criminal acts after the Supreme Court ruled that Trump was immune from prosecution for some of the conduct included in Smith’s original 2023 indictment.
