Our start of the week for this week is the Mentimeter – making a conventional presentation an interactive experience for all involved. In Centimeters, “Everyone’s voice was heard” helping conferences, meetings, training sessions and events to be more productive, effective experiences.
The Stockholm-based startup was founded after a group of friends, and soon to be co-founders, who were increasingly disappointed with how effective the meetings were at their jobs. They decided to create the Mentimeter as a way to increase engagement in meetings, making them “Not so boring”.
Co-founder Johnny Warström said in an interview with TechRound yan “After the tool became increasingly popular among our friends and colleagues, we realized we were into something, and we were able to get a small investment that allowed us to get out of our company quickly.”
Mentimeter’s easy-to-use presentation platform, which offers several powerful features to help users prepare and present engaging, effective presentations. Mentimeter can help users do the following:
- Generate stunning interactive presentations through its presentation builder.
- Collect data, opinions and polls from presentation participants.
- Collect participants ’insights.
The startup’s online presentation tool is already in use in more than 160 countries, used by speakers and lecturers in both formal and informal conference situations. One of the key aspects of the Mentimeter tool is the ability for presenters to incorporate anonymous feedback and opinions from their audience, helping to make the whole experience more interactive, fully relevant and engaging for all involved.
Since its inception, Mentimeter has reached a global status, boasting more than 130 million users – which includes some of the largest, most popular companies such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Microsoft and JP Morgan.
So far, Mentimeter has raised a total of $ 625,000 over the course of 2 funding rounds; their latest, a Seed Round, was announced in December 2015, which raised $ 125,000.
