Tacitus returns to work for Mott in Saratoga after a 32-day break

Juddmonte Farms’ homebred Tacitus, without race since the Saudi Cup in February, worked for the first time in more than a month Thursday in Saratoga for Hall of Fame coach Bill Mott.

Tacitus drilled four furlongs in 48.1 seconds, which was the fastest of seven moves on the distance. During the Saratoga event, Tapit’s son, who was bred under the auspices, only participated in the 7th of August lures for the main course and was scratched as the race remained on the lawn. He worked the following day and again on August 15, but that was until Thursday’s breeze.

Mott could not be reached for comment.
