TALENT actress Ruth Madeley embarks on a journey through space and time in the TARDIS.
NS Westthinkton The star starred in the voice-over series of Doctor Who as both a friend and a friend of Colin Baker, who plays The Doctor and co-star Bonnie Langford.
BAFTA nominee Ruth plays marine biologist Hebe Harrison, who is part of the research team on an abandoned oil rig when her friends begin to disappear.
He teams up with Langford, who plays the Doctor and Mel, to solve the mystery in Doctor Who: The Sixth Doctor Adventures.
“Being a part of the Doctor Who family is so much fun. Hebe is a great character to play and I’m always excited to see what adventures he’s had with Doctor and Mel,” Ruth said.
Jacqueline Rayner, who produces the series for Big Finish Productions, said, “The champagne corks were popping when we got word that Ruth was on board!
“Aside from being a great actor, he is one of the loveliest people to work with, and it was incredible to hear Hebe come back to life during recording. Ruth instantly became a part of the Sixth Doctor family and we are so lucky to have her.”
The first two volumes of the series are now available for pre-order on CD or digital.
Next year, local actor Christopher Eccleston from Little Hulton will air the second series of the audio version of Doctor Who, playing the ninth doctor.
It’s a role she’s played before on television, and she says it’s “a great pleasure” to record her first audio version of the character in 2020.
