Pop icon Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president late Tuesday after her debate with former President Trump.
“I’m voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” the multi-platinum-selling recording star said.
Swift suggested that Harris’ confident demeanor in the debate inspired her to publish the recommendation. She said she was speaking to reveal false reports that she may support Trump.
“(Harris) is a stable and talented leader,” Swift wrote to her 280 million followers. “I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
“I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice,” she added.
Swift praised Walz as a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights, a cause the singer says she believes in deeply.
Swift captioned the post “childless cat lady,” a scathing rebuke of GOP vice presidential candidate JD Vance who has said parents should have a greater voice than those without children.
The singer, who commands the loyalty of millions, especially young women, endorsed President Biden in 2020. But she had so far been tight-lipped about whether she would endorse anyone this time.
