Taylor Swift, one of the music industry’s biggest stars, endorsed Kamala Harris for president shortly after the debate ended Tuesday night.
She announced her support in a Instagram posts.
“Recently I became aware that AI of ‘I’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential bid was posted on his website. It really raised my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It led me to the conclusion that I need to be very open about my actual plans for this election. The easiest way to fight misinformation is with the truth,” she wrote. “I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she’s fighting for the rights and things that I believe need a warrior to fight for them. I think she is a stable, talented leader and I think we can achieve so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has stood up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
She included a picture of herself holding a cat and signed the message “Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to comments made by JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate.
