A woman from Texas defends her husband’s decision to shoot and kill three pit bulls after the dogs attacked her livestock and killed several of her animals.
Michelle Gomez of Caldwell County told FOX 7 Austin that “enough is enough” in light of the numerous livestock attacks and deaths from her neighbor’s many pit bull dogs.

By Friday morning, her neighbor’s pit bulls had either scaled over or dug under her fence and brutally attacked her pig, grabbing it by the ears. Luckily, the pig survived the attack.
For the past two and a half years, three chickens and a miniature horse have not been so lucky. The animals died from her neighbor’s pit bull dogs before the incident last Friday.
Gomez told FOX 7 Austin that she is “scared of [her] life.”
“The cop always gave me and told me you have the right to shoot and kill the dogs. I don’t like killing dogs. I mean I love animals. They shouldn’t have to die from a bullet,” Gomez said.
In the past 30 months, over 45 service calls have been made to Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office regarding cruelty to animals, stray dogs and animals in general.
The owner of the dogs had previously received two reports for nuisance animals, had paid the fine and attended court hearings.
“A citation is not enough. To fix this, they have to pick up the dogs,” Gomez said.
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 7 Austin that they have “followed the laws in the state of Texas and has pursued this matter to the fullest extent possible, as the situation stands today between the neighbors in this case, and will continue to follow state law in these types of situations to hopefully prevent more pet and livestock deaths in our county.”
