Five billion dollar: That’s what the Biden-Harris open border policy has cost New York taxpayers.
Yep: In just 25 months until July, Gotham shot out more than 5 billion dollars for migrant costs, including $2 billion on housing alone, according to the city’s own figures.
And that amazing figure is budgeted for double until July.
New Yorkers, including Mayor Adams, boast about how they welcome newcomers.
But there is a limit, right?
The staggering three-year total of $10 billion is almost there twice what the NYPD spends annually.
Think how many more police officers, firemen or teachers could buy.
Oh, and these expenses don’t even count the huge losses to businesses for the crime of being located near unruly migrant shelters or hangouts, nor the lost tourism with one in five hotels converted into migrant accommodation.
Or the cost of migrant crime itself: In just the past two weeks, The police took three different illegal migrants for rapes in the city.
Yes, New York’s crazy rules — on-demand coverage, for one — play a role.
But none of this happened before Biden and Harris came and took over, after sending out what migrants call “La Invitacion” to storm the border.
And it’s not just NYC: The House Budget Committee estimates the cost to the nation through May at as much as 400 billion dollars — with as many as 10 million border jumpers arriving on the Biden-Harris watch.
The onslaught won’t end when Biden leaves office in January, nor after that if Harris wins in November.
As Biden himself notesher policy is completely in sync with his.
(In fact, she’s even more progressive, though she’s dropped her “abolish ICE” talk.)
No, the only hope for New York and America is for Harris to stay as far from border politics as possible.
Either she’s been kept out of the White House, or New Yorkers will see even more billions go bye-bye.
