The State Fair of Texas is making a comeback.
Organizers announced Wednesday that the fair is returning to in-person on Friday, September 24.
And this year’s theme: “Howdy, Folks!”
“This year’s commemorative theme is what the art fair is all about — including the foundation of being together,” said Michelle Gleiber, president of the State Fair of Texas. “None of us could have predicted what the COVID-19 pandemic would bring with it, but we feel very grateful to carry forward the 135-year history of the State Fair and warmly welcome everyone,” Howdy Folks!’ year.”
“We are excited to help make up for lost time and reconnect families and friends from all walks of life, while creating new memories,” Gleber said.
Organizers said the fair “might look a little different from every other year to ensure a safe environment.”
“As we welcome everyone, the health and safety of all fair-goers, vendors and team members is our top priority,” the organizers said in a news release. “The Fair will comply with all applicable CDC guidelines during the time the Fair is held as well as any local, state or federal guidelines.”
Amid coronavirus restrictions, the state fair of Texas was turned into a drive-thru event for 2020.
The State Fair of Texas runs from September 24 to October 17.
