The presidential debate between Donald Trump and vice president Kamala Harris is finally upon us, and the ladies in The view makes his predictions about how things will go during tonight’s broadcast.
Alyssa Farah Griffinwho worked for the Trump administration until her resignation in 2020, told the panel that Harris has “more to lose but also more to gain.”
“The person who will emerge victorious in this debate is the person who leaves Americans thinking, ‘I understand your difficulties and I have a plan to solve them,'” she said, noting that Harris should approach the debate as a job interview by focusing on why she is right for the position as opposed to why Trump is not right for the position.
As for how her former boss will do, Griffin expects him to fall off the wagon by the end of the broadcast.
“Donald Trump, I tend to believe melts down after about 15 minutes. He can start strong but he tends to taper off,” she said. “It’s a 90-minute debate so there’s a chance he’ll start strong. I would pay attention to how he is in the back half of it. That’s when he starts getting into handicapping and golf and all that.”
In the meantime, Sunny Hostin said Harris has a “really tough job ahead of her” because she will be facing a “threat” that is “not behaving normally.” According to Hostin, the Democratic nominee needs to remain calm, cool and collected instead of going into “attack mode” so she doesn’t end up being the “angry black woman.”
Whoopi Goldbergfor his part, is convinced that Harris sees Trump as nothing more than a “distraction.”
“What I want from her is not to deal with him. Because I don’t think that 28% of the people do not know who she is. She has been around for four years, she says. “I understand that you may not know what her special policy is and that is what it is all about. That’s why she does this. He’s a distraction and she knows it. We know that.”
The view airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
