The Winder Family: Did He Really Give Up Looking for a Sister Wife?

When it comes to a family on Seeking Sister Wife, there really are no questions to ask:

Snowdens should be in jail.

if blame the couple True, Dmitry and Ashley should be arrested for the attack.

But what about The Winder Family?

This polygamist group — which includes legal spouses Colton and Tammy, along with partner Sophie — joined Seeking Sister Wife in Season 2.

She was featured prominently in Season 3, which depicted Colton, Tammy and Sophie’s journey to recruit a woman named Kimberly into their unique home.

And while many critics have questioned the decency of plural marriage as an institution, for understandably wrong reasons, the Winders have certainly emerged as the most stable of all the Seeking Sister Wife families.

They practice polygamy for religious reasons and each member seems legitimately happy.

Which helps explain why so many Instagram followers were surprised to read the following on Tuesday.

“Reality television has been an interesting experience for our family. We didn’t appear on your TV for fame or money. The show is called “Seeking Sister Wife” and our demands are incidental to our religious beliefs,” Winders said. Wrote. A caption for a family photo.

“We weren’t on the show to find a second wife.

“Being open to that blessing would have happened with or without the show.”

It certainly sounds like Colton and company are moving away, doesn’t it?

He continued:

“The reasons we agreed to appear on television were twofold. First, we wanted to give the world a true portrayal of plural marriage in our faith, with its beauty and struggle.

“Second, we wanted to legitimize our voice in the fight to change the laws in Utah so that families like ours no longer have to live in fear and secrecy.”

Fair enough, isn’t it?

“We don’t know for sure whether we were successful in either of those, but when we started filming our second season, the law changed in Utah, and we saw our joys and struggles in real terms on the show and on our social media. Painted we can,” he said.

“This lifestyle can be difficult, and we didn’t want to portray it any other way.”

Winders then explained what happened with his attempt to expand:

“In the end, Kimberley did not join our family. The decision was mutual, and we have great respect for Kimberley.

“She is a beautiful and kind woman, and we appreciate her continued friendship with her.”

Again, unlike the women who have been engaged to Snowdens, Kimberly hasn’t come out and trashed any of the Winders, who ended her post…

This season of Seeking Sister Wife closes for us with last night’s episode. We don’t know what will happen in the future, but we are excited to see what lies ahead for us.

We will continue to share occasional posts and updates on our social media, and may decide to venture into other projects in the future as well.

We will always raise our voice in defense of our right to live the way we choose, and we will always do the same for any consenting adult, no matter what the relationship looks like.

Thanks to all our loyal fans and also to those who didn’t like us. We appreciate you joining us on this wild ride.
