If you’re like us, you held out hope that — despite last year’s “deferral” of the Peace Out farewell tour — we’d get another chance to see Aerosmith’s unadulterated rock energy on a stage in Boston.

Unfortunately with the band’s message Friday that it would “retire from the touring scene” in the wake of singer Steven Tyler’s larynx injury, it seems we’ll have to be content with our memories.
