Ken O., a real estate management treasurer, 60, is “ready for love.”
Peabody resident Ken O. is looking for love, and he wants all of America to know it. He is about to compete in the first ever season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”
“I’m ready for love,” Ken said in an Instagram video for the show. “I think I’m too young at 60 to be alone for the rest of my life, so I’m looking for love.”
His bio on ABC’s website describes Ken, a property management treasurer, as “honest, adventurous and active.”
He is an avid Boston sports fan. His dream? Throwing out the first pitch at Fenway. He is also a fan of singer Miley Cyrus and enjoys watching “Ted Lasso”.
The ABC reality dating show is a new addition to the popular “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” series, which features dozens of contestants competing to date — and eventually marry — one person. The “golden” part of the name comes from the contestants’ ages, all of whom are 60 or older.
Ken is looking for love specifically from the Golden Bachelorette herself, Joan Vassos. Vassos is a 61-year-old private school administrator who participated in the first season of “The Golden Bachelor.” She voluntarily removed himself from the program to take care of her family, her ABC bio says.
But now she’s back and ready to hand out roses.
“Now, as she steps into the golden spotlight and begins her journey to find love again, Vassos envisions a future filled with shared moments by the beach and cherished times with family,” her bio reads.
Vasso’s season of “The Golden Bachelorette” airs on September 18.
