Three men were shot, two with serious injuries, in a violent encounter on Chicago’s South Side on Labor Day evening.
Police said they responded to a hospital shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday for a call that several people had been shot in the 12300 block of South Emerald Avenue in the city’s West Pullman neighborhood.
Among the critical victims, a 28-year-old man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Another victim, 23, who suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and buttocks, was taken to Roseland Community Hospital.
Police said the third man, 26, who was shot in the buttocks, went to another area hospital without medical attention and was listed in good condition late Monday.
No one was in custody late Monday, and Chicago police said they were investigating.
