Tim Paine emerges from the Ashes after indefinite hiatus from all cricket

Melbourne [Australia], 26 November (ANI): Former Australian Test captain Tim Paine “takes leave from all forms of cricket” after the Ashes stepped down as captain of the team ahead.

Paine announced his resignation last week after a ‘sexting scandal’ with a former Cricket Tasmanian colleague in 2017.

Cricket Tasmania on Friday made a statement about Paine’s absence from the Marsh One-Day Cup match against Western Australia.

Cricket Tasmania said in a statement, “Following discussions over the past 24 hours, Tim Paine has advised Cricket Tasmania that he will be taking leave from all forms of cricket in the foreseeable future.” Said.

“Tim’s decision resulted in him not being selected for today’s Marsh One-Day Cup match against Western Australia. Charlie Wakim will replace him in the squad.

“Cricket Tasmania will continue to support Tim and his family both professionally and personally throughout the summer,” he said.

England and Australia will wreak havoc in the five-game Ashes, which kicks off in Gabba, Brisbane from 8 December.

Paine’s sanity break means Ashes won’t be available for her first game.

Last week, Cricket Australia (CA) president Richard Freudenstein pointed out that he couldn’t talk about what happened in 2018, but if it had been in 2021, the governing body wouldn’t have made the same decision for Paine. (MOMENT)
