A car hit a toddler who was walking in the street on Monday, the Boston Police Department said.
The toddler is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Officers responded to the area of 153 Stanwood Street in Dorchester around 10:47 a.m., the department said. According to the police, the driver remained at the scene.
Dashcam videos obtained by WHDH shows the toddler walking out into the street between the cars. The front bumper of the car hits the child and the child falls down.
After several accidents involving pedestrians in recent years, the Boston City Council has put forward a proposal to reduce the speed limit across Boston. The speed limit has already been lowered from 30 mph to 25 mph, but a new plan could lower it further.
