CHICAGO — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has gone viral over what some suspected was toilet paper that fell from her pants as she took the stage Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention — but a source tells The Post that rampant speculation is false and that it was actually notes .
Pelosi, 84, left behind what appeared to be a square white paper product as she took to the podium to address thousands of Democrats — sparking the sick theory.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ nephew Alexander Hudlin’s shoe turned the object over, revealing a more complex geometric shape — adding to the mystery.
“There were note cards” that were “folded up” with her speech, a source familiar with Pelosi’s appearance insisted — after a tweeted video of the incident received nearly 2 million views on X.
Malaysian political commentator Ian Miles Cheong, who shared the viral footage, declared it “toilet paper” and many social media users latched onto the explanation to mock the senior democrat.
X users called out to roast Pelosi in the responses.
“Stage hands bicker: ‘Who’s going to pick it up?’ Not me! You! No, you! Not gonna happen!'” one user wrote.
Another joked that the paper “was the chloroform rag she used on Joe Biden,” referring to her reported efforts to convince Biden to drop his re-election bid.
The former Speaker of Parliament went on to give a relatively short speech of less than 5 minutes.
The object remained on stage when California Democratic congressional candidate Lateefah Simon gave her speech, but had been cleaned up when acclaimed TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey spoke not long after.
Pelosi praised President Biden in her brief speech for having “one of the most successful presidencies in modern times,” without mentioning her leadership role that forced him to withdraw from the presidential nomination last month over concerns about his mental acuity.
