Chops remain on the menu — at least as a side dish — for the Giants.
Brian Daboll said there would be three quarterbacks at Tuesday’s practice, meaning third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito survived the Giants’ cut to a 53-man roster before Tuesday’s deadline at 4 p.m.
DeVito started and played all of Saturday night’s preseason finale, a 10-6 loss to the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
The popular Jersey native was sacked eight times against the Jets’ defensive backups, including three consecutive offensive plays in the second quarter.
The 26-year-old DeVito, who made six starts and nine appearances last season, finished the game with 14 completions on 27 attempts for 103 yards.
The Giants added veteran quarterback Drew Lock in the offseason to back up returning starter Daniel Jones, who is coming back from season-ending knee surgery last November.
But Lock has dealt with hip and oblique issues late in training camp, necessitating keeping DeVito on the roster.
