Tropical Storm Ernesto churns in the Atlantic and takes aim at Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands.
Tuesday night into Wednesday, Puerto Rico could see 10 inches of rain, flash flooding and storm surges of up to 3 feet.
Ernesto is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it moves out of the Caribbean and into the open Atlantic by midweek.
Ernesto may strengthen to a Category 2 hurricane as it approaches Bermuda late Friday into Saturday morning.
Ernesto is expected to bring rough surf and rip currents to the East Coast this weekend and next week, but it is not expected to make landfall on the US mainland.
