Donald Trump whined about vice president Dick Cheney and his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), on Friday after the two threw their support behind the vice president Kamala Harris‘ promotion this week.
“Dick Cheney is an irrelevant RINO, along with his daughter, who lost by the largest margin in congressional race history!” wrote the GOP nominee on his Truth social platform.
His post comes on the same day Liz Cheney revealed that her father, who once supported Trump’s 2016 campaign before he became one harsh critic of the former president, would vote for the Democratic candidate this fall.
Dick Cheney, who served as former president George W. BushVP, later released a statement confirms his support for Harris and warned that Trump “can never be trusted in power again” because of his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
In his post on Truth Social, Trump scoffed at Dick Cheney’s failure to pardon his former chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby who in 2007 was convicted four counts of perjury and obstruction of justice related to a CIA leak scandal.
“They couldn’t get Scooter Libby, who did so much for them (but was treated so unfairly!), BETRAYED. I did!” Trump wrote, as pardoned Libby 2018 (Bush did not pardon Libby and later claimed that the decision made his VP “angry”).
Trump continued, “He is the king of endless, senseless wars, wasting lives and trillions of dollars, just like Comrade Kamala Harris. I am the President of Peace and only I will stop World War III!”
He went on to criticize Liz Cheney for her work as former vice chair of the committee on January 6 before making a number of false claims about the committee and who was “responsible” for security at the Capitol on the day of the deadly riot.
Dick Cheney, with his Harris endorsement on Friday, joined in a number of Republicans previously on the GOP presidential ticket who have signaled they will not vote for Trump in November.
