Two people detained by investigators after a shooting that injured an infant and a man Sunday night has been arrested, authorities said.
A shooting erupted after a confrontation between large groups of people, and one of the bullets appeared to graze a 7-month-old, according to a statement from sheriff’s office spokesman Jimmy Lee. Another also hit a man, he said.
Authorities did not provide an update on the condition of either of the two Tuesday morning. An ambulance took both to hospital.
Investigators arrested a 19-year-old San Francisco resident and an 18-year-old Bay Point resident on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse, Lee said. Both were taken to the Martinez Detention Facility and held in lieu of $1.75 million bail, he said.
In the prison register, none of them were in custody at the beginning of Tuesday.
The violence happened in the 3600 block of Desanie Circle around 5:45 p.m. According to Lee, callers said a street fight between two large groups of people occurred and eventually shots were fired.
