SAN LEANDRO — Authorities announced Thursday two arrests in the shoot dead a 23-year-old man last year at a skate park in unincorporated San Leandro.
Devin Stevenson and Ebony Cook were arrested Wednesday night by BART officers, according to Sgt. Roberto Morales of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m. on June 15, 2023, at the skate park next to the REACH Ashland Youth Center, located at 16313 East 14th Street, Morales said.
Deputies arrived to find Darrion Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified Stevenson and Cook as suspects in the case. A homicide warrant was issued for Stevenson and an accessory after the fact warrant was issued for Cook.
Morales said the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is moving forward with charges in the case.
No other details about the case were released Thursday.
