Two men were shot, a fatal oneon Washington High Street early Wednesday, police said.
The fatally wounded victim was blasted in the chest at W. 160th St. and Amsterdam Ave. at approximately 12:05 p.m., police said. Doctors took him to Harlem Hospital but he could not be saved.
Police were working to identify the victim, who is believed to be in his 30s.
Police later learned that a 25-year-old man showed up at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia on a private road after being shot in the left ankle during the same incident. That victim is in stable condition.
The killer got away, leaving six shell casings at the scene and has not been caught.
According to the police, it is still unclear who the intended target was or what triggered the shooting.
