TWO nursing homes in and around York are among the top 20 in Yorkshire and Humberside, according to a collective review website.

Their lifestyle in York, Scarcroft Hill, and St John’s House in Kirk Hammerton received praise from nursing homes. co.uk.

The website’s annual awards list the top 20 in each region, based on reviews by residents and their families.

Amanda Hopkins, review manager for carehome.co.uk said: “We now have over 200,000 nursing home reviews on carehome.co.uk, so we can give people a real insight into how a nursing home and its staff are doing. It indicates whether the nursing home has value for money and the standard of its facilities, as well as the quality of their activities and nutrition.

“To be named the highest rated nursing home by family and friends as well as residents who truly receive care is a tremendous achievement.

“Choosing a hospice can be emotionally and physically exhausting, so we hope our awards for top-rated homes will make the search easier.”

Clare Bower, registered director of the Lifestyles hospice, said: “Thank you so much, we are truly delighted and humiliated by this amazing award.

Our residents are truly at the center of everything we do, and we are lucky to be a part of their daily lives.”

The website does not rank homes in the top 20.
