US forces have destroyed two Houthi drones and an unmanned surface vessel in the Red Sea, the US military announced.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) wrote on X-Saturday that in the last 24 hours, forces destroyed an Iranian-backed Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and an unmanned surface vessel (USV) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
The US military noted that it determined that UAVs and USVs posed a “clear and imminent threat” to US and coalition forces as well as merchant ships in region in the Middle East.
“This action was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US, coalition and merchant vessels,” CENTCOM said.
