A focus group of Republicans, Democrats and independents responded to former President Trump’s running mate Late. JD Vance’s microphone was cut off during the CBS News vice presidential debate Tuesday night.
Independent and Republican voters disapproved of the interjection, but independent voters dropped significantly when Vance began explaining his stance.
Although CBS announced that it would not allow fact-checking live during the debate, moderator Margaret Brennan stepped in to correct Vance after he suggested that illegal immigrants were overwhelming public resources in Springfield, Ohio.

“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio has a large number of Haitian migrants that have legal status, temporary protected status,” Brennan said.
“The rules were you weren’t to check facts,” Vance reminded them. “And since you’re fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.”
When Walz tried to intercede, the independent approval also briefly declined.

While the moderators explained the process of obtaining legal status and tied it to a Harris-backed immigration policy. spoke of Vance, thanked him for “describing the legal process” before cutting off his microphone when Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tried to argue with him.
When the microphones were turned off, the independent voter choice line can be seen moving in the direction of approval as Republican approval decreased slightly.
