Production on season 3 of The Mandalorian is officially underway! Cast member Carl Weathers has told his Twitter followers that he is in the process of filming for the upcoming third season. The second season of the hit Disney + original series received more recognition with many award nominations and wins received in the last awards season.
Weathers ended months of speculation about production over season 3 with his tweet, which reads: “Mandalorian, season # 3 starts for your real, tomorrow. Count Karga is back at Disney +. #BePeace”. Season 3 was originally expected to be filmed in the spring of 2021, but was pushed back in the fall for reasons not disclosed by Disney + representatives.
Before we reach season 3 of The Mandalorian, a list of other series included in the Star Wars Universe will premiere on Disney +, inclusive The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, in the Kenobi.
Season 2 starts with Din Djarin doing his job unites the child with the Jedi. He seeks out other Mandalorians for help and is led to Tatooine, where Cobb Vanth acts as Marshal of a town routinely attacked by a Krayt dragon. Vanth wore Mandalorian armor, which had previously belonged to Boba Fett. In exchange for his help in killing the dragon, Vanth gives Djarin the armor to hold on.
Fortunately, Din eventually finds other Mandalorians, including Bo-Katan Kryze. In exchange for information on where to find the Jedi, Din Bo-Katan helps to attack an imperial ship. Finally, Bo-Katan tells Din where Ahsoka Tano is.
Before she finds her, Din & the child stop by to see Cara Dune & Count Karga for repairs on her ship. In the process, they discover clues as to what Moff Gideon wants in the child’s blood.
Finally, Din & the child find Ahsoka, who informs Din that the child’s name is Grogu. She refuses to train Grogu, citing his strong attachment to Din (Do you remember how weird the Jedi are about attachments?). She tells them to go to a place where Grogu can use the force to choose his own path. During this time, imperial forces arrived and abducted Grogu. In exchange for his armor, Boba Fett agrees to help Din get him back.
Din makes another deal, this time with Bo-Katan (Help does not come for free in the galaxy far, far away). They agree to help him save Grogu if she can have the Dark Saber. The group is overwhelmed and overwhelmed when Luke Skywalker arrives and rescues them. Luke informs Din that Grogu has contacted him for training. In the end, Din de Grogu gives his blessing in both parts.
Season 3 has a lot to work with with all the loose ends left of season 2. There are to Dr. Pershing’s experiments with Grogu’s blood, and how it can be armed by the Empire. In addition, Din’s biggest challenge, apart from being an empty nest, will be figuring out how to handle the precarious situation in which he found himself as the random legitimate leader of Mandalore.
For those who are not aware of Mandalorian traditions (we do not blame you, there are many & many of them are strangely contradictory), the Darksaber can only be won in battle, and the winner is, according to some, the rightful ruler of Mandalore. Of course, Bo-Katan wants this to be her and feels that she can not accept the din just hand over the weapon to her.
There is also the question of Grogu’s training, and whether he will be reunited with his adoptive father. The finale of season 2 has Boba shooting Fat Spinoff, with Fett & Fennec Shand returning to Tatooine where they will kill Bib Fortuna and take his throne. The Book of Boba Fett is due out in December.
Even though no release date for season 3 has been announced The Mandalorian, Fans can expect to see it premiere sometime next year since production officially began. What do you look forward to most? The Mandalorian Season 3? Let us know in the comments!
