FREMONT — Police here raided a home and storage unit in connection with a fatal overdose investigation, seizing a total of 11 guns and several pounds of various drugs, court records show.
The July 10 raids resulted in the seizure of a quarter pound of pills containing fentanyl, seven pounds of MDMA, 2.2 pounds of cocaine, approximately 2,400 Xanax pills, 150 grams of ketamine and 1.7 pounds of cutting edge, as well as smaller amounts of methamphetamine, LSD and various hallucinogens, police said in court papers.
The main target of the investigation was 33-year-old Hanibal Ocampo, who is the suspect in a fatal fentanyl overdose investigation in Concord, according to court records. No charges have been filed in the overdose case, but Ocampo has been charged in Alameda County with drug and gun possession charges, including a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Three others were charged, including Ocampo’s girlfriend and two people who were present in his kitchen trying to cook about 24 pounds of marijuana into edibles, according to police.
Police say the residence and storage unit both belonged to Ocampo and that the home contained a room that had been converted into an unofficial drug “store,” complete with a menu, stocked shelves and pricing information, authorities said. Police also seized an unknown amount of cash from the home.
Ocampo’s girlfriend was on federal probation at the time of the raid, and the two men who were “cooking” marijuana in the kitchen tried to escape over a backyard fence, police said.
One of the 11 weapons, a shotgun, had been reported stolen and another, a handgun, had been reported missing, police said. They also allegedly seized a silencer and noted that a gun had been modified to meet the definition of an assault weapon and did not contain a serial number, according to court records.
Authorities have not released the name of the overdose victim.
