White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has shifted responsibility from the Biden administration over the escalating border crisis – claiming they inherited a “broken” system from Donald Trump that was “inhuman, immoral and ineffective”.
The border crisis has escalated in Del Rio after more than 14,000 mostly Haitian immigrants flocked to the Mexican-Texas border in search of a new life.
The Biden administration has been criticized for how it handled the crisis, especially after images surfaced showing border patrol agents allegedly whipping migrants.
A reporter asked the White House press secretary what Joe Biden thought about the comparisons between him and Donald Trump’s strict border policy.
“We could not see it as more different than the policies of the previous administration,” said Jen Psaki.
“As the president feels – we all know – was inhuman, immoral, inefficient, did not work operationally and because of its functioning we have led to a very broken system that we are dealing with today.”
Texas Senator Ted Cruz visited the Southern Border over the weekend and slammed the Biden administration for pretending this is not a problem.
“I have to tell you that all the Democrats I met were so horrified by what was happening at the border that they told me over and over again if the Democratic Party is the party with open borders, figure me out,” he told Fox News.
“It’s a disaster that is unfolding, but today the Washington Democrat is not one of those who cares.
“Joe Biden will not go down to the border, Kamala Harris will not go down to the border or the Rio Grande Valley or go to Del Rio.
