A man was arrested Tuesday in the gruesome fatal stabbing of a woman at a spa in Queens, police said.
According to police, officers responding to a 911 call around 5:40 p.m. found a woman with multiple stab wounds in the basement of a Kissena Blvd. building in Flushing, and arrested a man who was at the scene.
“She is fighting for her life,” said Boss Li, 52, who runs a neighborhood security patrol, adding that the victim was “stabbed in her chest and stomach.”
EMS transported the woman to New York Presbyterian Hospital but she could not be saved.
A police source confirmed that the slain woman was found at Spring Garden Spa in the basement of the building, which also houses several businesses, including Jie Hair Salon and Jie Hair Salon.
According to the police, both the victim and the man who was arrested are believed to be in their twenties.
Police could not immediately confirm the relationship between the man and the woman. Both were from Guizhou, China, and had been in the United States for just a month, according to a woman who said she knew the victim.
