REDWOOD CITY — A driver struck and injured a woman and girl Thursday in Redwood City, according to police.
The collision happened around 8 a.m. at Duane Street and Harrison Avenue, near the McKinley Institute of Technology and North Star Academy, the Redwood City Police Department said in a news release.
The woman and the girl were walking in a crosswalk when they were struck by a driver turning from southbound Duane Street onto eastbound Harrison Avenue, according to police.
Both pedestrians were taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
“This incident should serve as a reminder to all members of the community that school is back in session and to be especially careful around schools during drop-off and pick-up times,” police said.
