A woman’s death in Texas may have fallen into the hands of her own dogs.

Tiffany L. Frangione, 48, was found in her backyard in Houston with fatal stab wounds to the neck Friday morning, according to New York Post .

Police said her two dogs had been arguing with their neighbor’s dogs through the fence.

Police have a theory that Frangione was trying to play peacemaker between the dogs when her two dogs – a five-year-old mix of Alaskan husky and a Cane Corso male – attacked her.

Frangione’s husband handed over the two dogs to the BARC Animal Shelter in Houston to be killed, according to KTRK.

Police said they are awaiting autopsy results to definitively determine Frangione’s cause of death.
