Worker falling from building in central Wellington is in serious condition

A person who fell from a building in Wellington was hospitalized.

A Wellington Free Ambulance spokesperson said one person was transported to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition following an incident that occurred on Holland St in the suburb of Te Aro on Thursday afternoon.

It was learned that the victim, who is thought to be a windshield wiper, fell from a building.

At around 14.20 on Thursday, many paramedics and Fire Brigade and Emergency teams surrounded the area.

The street was cordoned off.

The street was cordoned off.

The street was lined with road cones and vehicles as emergency personnel investigated what was going on.

A nearby resident told a reporter at the scene that they thought the victim was a washer working at the time.

A police spokesperson said WorkSafe has been notified and investigations are ongoing.
